The effects of the Covid19 pandemic, the lack of chips and the climate and biodiversity crisis make it clear how vulnerable our global economic system is. Supply chains form the backbone of this system.

In this masterclass, you will be presented with significant ongoing challenges within the field and shown approaches to create resilient supply chains.

Further, get inspired by Chr. Hansen: a corporation that has acquired new tools, games, concepts, and tricks in terms of Supply Chain Management by embracing the concept of lifelong learning.

Within a few years, the topic of supply chains has developed from a niche topic to one of the most important topics of contemporary management. This is due to the worldwide division of labor through the outsourcing of processes. However, this way of organizing business – via supply chains – has led to greater vulnerability. Different ways of dealing with interruptions or changes will be discussed.

Managing Global Supply Chains in an Era of Turbulence

Is the role of the supply chain manager becoming more political? This is the question that PhD fellow Amanda Bille, CBS, will seek to answer. In a novel case study, the responsibilities of companies in coffee supply chains will be explored drawing on experiences from the industry. The findings reveal insights on the ever-evolving nature of supply chain managers.

Søren Winther
